Crew Roster Board
Crew > Crew Roster
A new crew management tool that lets dispatchers and crew schedulers assess crew readiness, qualifications, and compliance in a single view. The Crew Roster Board displays crew members in a filterable, sortable table with inline status across Medical, Legalities, Training, Travel Docs, and overall Readiness.
Roster Table
The roster displays active crew members in a data grid with the following columns:
- Crew Member – sortable by name
- Position – displays duty positions (PIC, SIC, ACM, FA, and others) based on assignment type
- Home Base – the crew member’s home airport
- Transient Location – the crew member’s last known airport based on schedule activity
- Assignment Type – shows Type Rated, Type Assign, and/or Direct Assign
- Medical – Displays a check mark when the crew member is current, or the number of issues when medical certificate requirements are not met based on expiration
- Legalities – Displays a check mark when the crew member is compliant, or the number of issues based on the selected regulatory set, including limitations, experience, and time-off requirements. Duty and flight time validations are only evaluated when Trip Check is enabled
- Training – Displays a check mark when all training items are current, or the number of issues when items are expired or within a late grace period
- Travel Docs – Displays a check mark when all required documents are valid, or the number of issues when selected document types are expired or within the expiration threshold
- Readiness – Displays “Ready” (green check mark) when all categories pass, or “Not Ready” (red) when any category contains issues
The table supports infinite scroll for large crew lists and shows a result count alongside the data.
Filters
A comprehensive set of filters on the left panel allows you to narrow results. All filters work together and apply when the Search button is clicked.
- Date – select an as-of date to view crew status and transient location for that point in time; defaults to today
- Crew Search – Allows quick searching by any visible data in the table, returning matching results
- Aircraft – filter by Aircraft Type or Tail Number to find crew qualified for a specific aircraft; this is a required filter that defaults to the first aircraft type
- Position – filter by crew position (PIC, SIC, ACM, Attendant, and others); defaults to PIC
- Location – filter by Home Base and/or Transient airports with an optional search radius in nautical miles
- Regulatory Set – select a regulatory set to determine which legality and training checks to run; defaults to the company’s configured default
- Travel Docs – choose which travel document types (Passport, Visa, Driver’s License, etc.) are included in readiness checks; unchecked types are excluded
- Readiness – filter by Flight Ready or Not Ready to quickly identify available or flagged crew
- Trip Check – Simulate a proposed trip to evaluate crew legality before making assignments. Enter a departure time, departure and arrival airports, estimated block time, and total duty timeThe Legalities column updates to reflect compliance based on the trip parameters and selected regulatory set
Permissions & Export
- A new Crew Roster permission under the Crew module controls access to the page; users without this permission cannot see the menu item or access the board
- The export option respects the existing “Ability to export data from search pages” permission – when disabled, the export button is hidden
- When the Aircraft Type filter is active, directly assigned crew are excluded from results since direct assignments are tail-specific; the Direct Assign option in the Assignment Type filter is hidden accordingly
Coming soon!
We'll be continuing with updates to the Crew Roster feature in upcoming releases that will include:
- Filter by Contract Pilots in addition to Type Assignments
- Expand issue counts to reveal detailed flags
- Save and modify searches for faster reuse
- Exclude crew not qualified under the selected regulatory settings
- Trip Check defaults with automation based on tail number or aircraft type profiles
