Crew Logged Time Breakdown

Crew Logged Time Breakdown

When a crew member logs a flight, the time that is accrued depends on how they are typed, what position they are assigned on the flight, if they log as Pilot Flying (PF), and if the organization has a select log setting on or off. (For more details, see below.) The following table is meant as a guide to understand what time will be earned in each scenario.

Scenarios

The labels on the column header of the chart above reference the following:
  1. Typed As - Aircraft Type Assignment records on the Crew Info tab of a Personnel Profile. If the crew member has a type rating of PIC or SIC or none for that aircraft
  2. Assigned As - Position the crew member has for the flight that is being logged, as designated on the Trip page
  3. PF/PNF - Hours on the flight log designated as Pilot Flying (PF) or Pilot Not Flying (PNF)
  4. SIC Log PIC - Organizational/company-wide setting on Operations > Settings (tab) > Configuration, which allows crew assigned as SIC to log PIC time when they are the PF

Crew Time

The labels on the column header of the chart above reference the following:
  1. PIC or SIC - Crew accrues either PIC or SIC time or none. Note: Total time = PIC time + SIC time
  2. Night - If the flight is performed at night, the log will reflect/count those night hours for recency checks
  3. Instrument - If log indicates IFR, that will count for the crew member's Instrument time
  4. PIC Instrument - If log indicates IFR, will that count for the crew member's PIC Instrument time
  5. ACM Time - Will the logged time count as Additional Crew Member (ACM) time. Note: This does not count towards total time as it is not PIC or SIC
  6. CKA Time - Will the logged time count as Check Airman (CKA) time. Note: This does not count towards total time as it is not PIC or SIC
  7. IP Time - Will the logged time count as Instructor Pilot (IP) time. Note: This does not count towards total time as it is not PIC or SIC
  8. FA Time - Will the logged time count as Flight Attendant (FA) time. Note: This does not count towards total time as it is not PIC or SIC
  9. FE Time - Will the logged time count as Flight Engineer (FE) time. Note: This does not count towards total time as it is not PIC or SIC
