FRAT Setup

The FRAT (Flight Risk Assessment Tool) allows an operation to customize the categories and items within each category that must be reviewed for each flight for compliance with SMS (Safety Management System). 

FRAT Categories

  1. Access Operations > Operations Settings > FRAT Categories 

Notes
Create Categories first

 

   2. Click "Create New"
   3. Enter the name of the category
   4. Click "Create"

FRAT Items

Then, add FRAT Items

  1. Toggle to FRAT Items

   2. Click "Create New"
   3. Enter name, score and associate to a category previously created

  4. Click "Create"

FRAT Settings 

FRAT settings are with the FRAT Items tab. 


Understanding FRAT Thresholds and Approval

  1. The FRAT Dispatch threshold is a crucial setting that triggers a warning during a leg's feasibility check if the flight risk assessment (FRAT) score exceeds this pre-defined number.

    You can also set a FRAT approval threshold value and choose whether to display FRAT approval options.

FRAT Approval Workflow

  1. When you enable the "show FRAT approval" option, an "Approve" button appears within the trip details. Clicking this button opens a pop-up window where you can document the specific reason for approving a trip and mark it as approved.

FRAT Approval Power

  1. The FRAT Approval Power setting allows you to designate a specific group or user with the authority to approve FRAT scores that exceed the set threshold.
