Mobile: Weight & Balance

Mobile: Weight & Balance

The Weight and Balance (W&B) page helps you verify that your flight's loading is within the safe operational limits of the aircraft.

Accessing the W&B Page

The W&B page is accessible from the Flight Control page.

  • Conditional Visibility: The W&B selection on the Flight Control page is conditional. It will only appear if the aircraft profile settings for the specific aircraft operating your flight require a Weight and Balance assessment.

Sections and Data Entry

Once you open the W&B screen, you will find four main sections for data entry and reference. You must manually enter the passenger count and all actual weight values.

Basic Fields

  • Passenger Count: This is a manually entered field for the total number of passengers on board.

Takeoff Weight

This section provides limits and requires input for the aircraft's takeoff weight:

  • MTOW: Maximum Takeoff Weight

  • ACT TOW: Actual Takeoff Weight

Center of Gravity

This section provides the acceptable range for the aircraft's center of gravity and requires your calculated input:

  • FWD CG LIMIT: Forward Center of Gravity Limit

  • CG: Center of Gravity

  • AFT CG LIMIT: Aft Center of Gravity Limit

Landing Weight

This section provides limits and requires input for the aircraft's expected landing weight:

  • MAX LAND WGT: Maximum Landing Weight

  • LAND WGT: Actual Landing Weight

Error Checking and Saving

The application validates your entered data against the maximum limits.

Error on Save: If you attempt to save the W&B data and any of your actual numbers (ACT TOW or LAND WGT) are greater than their corresponding maximum numbers (MTOW or MAX LAND WGT), an error notification will appear. You must revise your entered numbers to comply with the aircraft's maximum limits before the data can be successfully saved.

Saving W&B Offline

If you save a Weight & Balance while disconnected from Wi-Fi or cellular data, the app will automatically save your changes locally so you don't lose your work. The event will then appear on your Unsent Page. This means the change has not yet synced to the cloud.

Important Notes on Unsent Events

  1. Visibility: Until the W&B is successfully sent and synced, it will only be visible on your specific mobile device (on the Unsent Page).
  2. Web/Other Devices: The change will not be visible on the web experience or any other mobile device until it is sent and processed.
