Mobile: Personnel Events

Mobile: Personnel Events

Personnel Events in the mobile app are synced with your web experience and offer full functionality for viewing, creating, and editing.

Viewing Personnel Events

Personnel events are visible from two primary areas within the mobile app:
  1. The Calendar page
  2. The Schedule page
The Personnel Events displayed in the mobile app are the same as those visible in the web experience.

Editing a Personnel Event

Editing permissions in the mobile app follow the same rules as the web experience:
  1. You can always edit a Personnel Event if you were the person who created it.
  2. Permissions Check: Your ability to edit an event created by someone else is determined by your user Access Role and associated permission settings.

How to Edit a Personnel Event

  1. Navigate to the Schedule Page.
  2. Locate the Personnel Event card you wish to review.
  3. Swipe left on the event card.
    1. If you have permissions to edit, an edit pen button will display and tapping will take you to the edit screen.
    2. If you do not have permissions to edit, a red lock icon will display with no actions available.

Creating a Personnel Event

Your ability to create a new event is controlled by a specific permission setting (in your web access role).
  1. If you have permission, you will see a Plus (+) button icon on both the Calendar page and the Schedule page. Tapping this icon will open the creation form.
  2. If you do not have permission, the Plus (+) button icon will not be visible.
Notes
There is a separate, streamlined method for creating Duty Time events only. Click this link to learn more.

Personnel Event Form

Whether creating a new event or editing an existing one, the Personnel Event form will open.

Required Fields

  1. Event Type: Must be selected before the Event Category. Choose one of the four types: Duty Time, General, Out of Office, or Hard Day Off.
  2. Event Category: Categories are configured by your organization. If a category is default for the Event Type selected it will automatically apply, but you may always select a different option.
  3. Time Zone: You can choose to enter the event times in Zulu (UTC) or Local Time.
  4. Start/End Time: By default, the form populates the start time as the current time and the end time as one hour later. Tap the fields to adjust the date and time.
  5. Personnel*: The event will automatically populate with your name. To add others, tap the Personnel field to type to search and add.

Optional Fields

  1. Start Airport*: Required when using Local Time. If only Start Airport is entered for a Local Time event, that locations timezone will be applied to both the start and end time.
  2. End Airport*: If provided for an event entered in Local Time, that location timezone will be used for the end time; in which case the Start Airport timezone will only be used for the start time.
  3. Aircraft*
  4. Location
  5. Subject
  6. Description

When you tap these fields, a blank search screen will appear. You must type to search to return values for selection.

Offline Event Management

If you create or edit a Personnel Event while disconnected from Wi-Fi or cellular data, the app will automatically save your changes locally so you don't lose your work. The event will then appear on your Unsent Page. This means the change has not yet synced to the cloud.

Important Notes on Unsent Events

  1. Visibility: Until the event is successfully sent and synced, it will only be visible on your specific mobile device (on the Unsent Page).
  2. Calendar/Schedule: Unsent events will not show up on your mobile app's Calendar or Schedule pages until they are synced.
  3. Web/Other Devices: The change will not be visible on the web experience or any other mobile device until it is sent and processed.
